Objectives and competences:
Understanding of basic physical laws
Intended learning outcomes:
The acquired knowledge in the fields of atomics and optics will enable the students to better understand the electrical properties of the materials which are important in electrical engineering. The students will acquire a general education in atomics and optics and also gain better understanding of theoretical and experimental methods which are used in electrical engineering.
Successful completion of the course will provide the students with:
- education in fundamental atomics and optics, preparing them for a future as problem solvers in the industry,
- a good basic education in atomics and optics suitable for a career in the industry from teh field of electrical enginerring.
After completion of the course the students should be able to/of:
- use the basic theoretical tools of atomics and optics that are needed for the more specialised courses in electrical engineering,
- application of the basic laws of atomics and optics to solve general problems in electrical engineering,
- solve practical problems in engineering , which prepare the students for independent development work in the industry ,
- solve interdisciplinary engineering problems, requiring a knowledge and understanding of atomics and optics, as well as experience with analytical tools from the field of physics.
