Prof. Dr Boštjan Batagelj among the University of Ljubljana’s outstanding mentors

An international committee composed of members of the University of Ljubljana Global Network and research institutes has, for the fourth consecutive year, selected ten outstanding mentors with whom young researchers will begin their training this autumn. The call was intended for the most successful researchers at the University of Ljubljana who lead at least one international project or the Slovenian part of an international project with a value of at least €100,000, and who have supervised at least two doctoral graduates.

Among the outstanding mentors for 2026 is also our colleague Prof. Dr Boštjan Batagelj, to whom we extend our sincere congratulations on this achievement.

Mentors play a key role in a doctoral student’s studies, in shaping the doctoral programme, providing guidance and support in scientific research work, and in the continuous evaluation of the student’s progress.
