Application and cancellation deadlines

When an exam period is announced, students can see it on their interface and can register for it if they meet the entry requirements.

Deadlines for registering for the written examination:

Students can opt out of the written examination via the IT system until midday (12:00) the day before the examination.

The deadline for registering and withdrawing for the oral examination is 20:00 the day before the examination, and on the day of the examination students will also see which slot they are allocated to.

 

Students may sit the examination for a course a maximum of three times in one academic year.

The examination periods are arranged in such a way that each course has 4 examination periods and a student may sit the examination for a course a maximum of three times in one academic year.

  • For winter semester courses, students may sit the examination once in the winter examination period (although there are two dates), once in the June examination period: and once in the autumn examination period.
  • For summer semester courses, students may sit the examination twice in the June or spring examination period and once in the autumn examination period.

 

UL FE Examination Regulations, Article 35: If a student was unable to attend an examination for an excusable reason, or was unable to withdraw for the same reason, or was prevented from taking the examination for reasons beyond his/her control, and provides the Student Applications Committee with the relevant evidence within 3 working days of the examination or as soon as the excusable reason has ceased to exist, he/she shall be deemed to have withdrawn in time. A student who fails to sign out and attend any part of an examination and who has no excusable reason for failing to do so shall be deemed to have failed the examination. In the case of an oral part of an examination or an oral examination, a candidate shall be deemed to have failed to attend if he/she is more than 15 minutes late.

Application procedure for students who are required to pay for the examination (midterms and 4th and 5th sittings):

  1. The student shall register himself/herself in time for the examination period announced in the information system.
  2. After entering the examination mark (positive or negative), the student receives an invoice to his/her student e-mail address, which he/she pays within the time limit as specified on the invoice.
