Objectives and competences
Objective of the course is learning of basics in inovation process, ways of protecting intelectual properties (industrial property, copyright), economic and lawful aspects of intelectual property rights (what, where, when, how), achieving and managing research&development projects, which results could be protected from the aspect of intelectual property.
Teaching and learning methods
During the lectures all concepts of intellectual property protection and development and innovation activities are presented. In the framework of laboratory exercises, students get acquainted with the patent application. At the end of the semester, students present a selected topic in the seminar work related to the protection of intellectual property.
Expected study results
After successful completion of the module students should be able to:
- Based on the practical examples presented, use an analytical approach to research activities
- Use the acquired knowledge to apply the appropriate category of intellectual property protection
- On the basis of a specific case and market analysis, define the way and the necessary level of protection of intellectual property
