The subject is taught in programs

Objectives and competences

The subject extends the knowledge of analog electronic circuits and provides foundations of non-linear electronic circuits. The subject covers principles of signal reshaping or generation by non-linear circuits and provides practical examples of real world devices. The content is selected as a broad range of non-linear circuit types and is a foundation for advanced concepts in analog electronics.

Teaching and learning methods

Lectures, laboratory work, work at home/homeworks. Part of the pedagogical process will be carried out with the help of ICT technologies and the opportunities they offer.

Expected study results

After successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

– recognize and understand principles of operation of electronic circuits for analog signal processing.

– design circuits for analog signal processing

– explain operation principles of ohmic rectifiers

– define types of voltage regulators and principles of current limiting

– recognize and understand priciples of operation of circuits for signal generation

– explain operation of switching regulators and power supplies and evaluate their limitatios

– explain principles of operation and applicability of phase-closed loops

– explain prevailing principles of analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters and evaluate their limitations

– analyse and design non-linear electronic circuits and systems
