Internationalcooperation
In 2023, the Faculty launched several new projects from various European programmes, and several of them were completed. Four projects were launched in 2023 under the European Territorial Cooperation Programmes (INTERREG), in two of which the Faculty is acting as coordinator. While there is still a decline in the number of projects of this type, the number of projects will increase again in 2024, as we already have information that at least three new projects will start to be funded in 2024, based on the results of the calls for proposals. Under the Framework Programme (previous Horizon 2020 and new Horizon Europe), 5 new projects started in 2023 and 12 have been completed. Despite the indicators shown, the trend is positive, as we have acquired 5 more Horizon Europe projects in 2023, which will start immediately at the beginning of 2024. One of the projects that will start as of 01.01.2024 is the ERC project, which is the first of its kind for the Faculty, and we are extremely proud of it. In 2023, the implementation of LIFE and Norway and EEA Grants projects continued, as well as two EDF projects. 2 ERASMUS+ projects were completed in 2023, and we have secured 2 additional ERASMUS+ projects from the next Financial Perspective 2021-2027. In the framework of the EMPIR programme, 2 projects were implemented at UL FE in 2023, one of which was completed in 2023, and 3 EPM projects were acquired, which is the continuation of the EMPIR programme in the new Financial Perspective. In addition to the two projects described above, there were also CNEC (PREPARATORY ACTION) and DIGITAL EUROPE projects, and our staff participated in COST projects.
In 2023, two international projects were implemented at UL FE, namely NATO and IAEA.
In 2023, we participated in 10 bilateral projects with research institutions from 5 foreign countries.
