Project management

Subject description

Introduction to project management: project goals and scope, project phases, analysis and planning, project life cycle. Project planning: project goals, project scope, conceptualization and initial planning, methods and techniques in project planning, resource management. Project executions: analysis of Gannt diagram, plan optimization, closing project and project evaluation. Multimedia and ICT systems and services: product life cycle, requirements analysis, design process, solution evaluation.

Project presentation: group work, presentation skills, software for managing projects. Analysis of selected multimedia and information technology projects.

Objectives and competences

Introduction to project management in the fields of multimedia and ICT. As part of group activity students present, document, set requirements and efficient communication in the project team. Student learns software tools for managing projects.

Teaching and learning methods

Lectures, demonstrations, practical laboratory work.

Expected study results

Understanding project oriented work in different fields of multimedia and ICT. Understanding project life cycle. Student is able to plan and execute a multimedia project with selected software tools. Introduction to reporting and presentation skills.
