Objectives and competences

The course makes an overview of multimedia content presentation and introduces fundamental multimedia technologies, devices and systems. The application of applicable technologies in interactive multimedia services is being explained. Fundamentals of multimedia communication and information technologies are to be gained by the students.

Teaching and learning methods

Lectures, demonstrations, practical laboratory work.

Expected study results

Familiarization with modern information resources.

Managing of technical domains of media, information and multimedia with emphasis on interactivity.

Understanding of physical properties of sound, image and video as most important building blocks of multimedia content.

Understanding of technical principles of multimedia capture, storage and presentation devices.
