The visit of representatives from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University
Datum objave: 28.3.2024On Friday, March 22nd, the University of Ljubljana hosted representatives from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, who also visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is primarily a technical university, established in 1956. It comprises 9 faculties in the fields of architecture, basic sciences, mechanical engineering, transport and environmental engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, creative industries, civil engineering and business, as well as an institute for aviation. Additionally, it has 4 research centers, 12 research institutes, and 22 research laboratories. The university has 8,100 students, including 1,500 international students from 88 countries. They offer programs taught in English in more than 50% of their curriculum, along with doctoral studies in 12 different research fields. They are part of the European university network Athena, which also includes the University of Maribor.
Currently, four members of the University of Ljubljana participate in the Erasmus+ program with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University: the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, the Faculty of Administration, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Representatives from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University have expressed interest in establishing collaborations with other members or in other fields. The University of Ljubljana has 49 Erasmus+ interinstitutional agreements with Lithuania, and is currently involved in 21 European projects. Additionally, there is a Slovenian language lecturership at Vilnius University.
