Visual communications design.
Visual language and visual elements: point, line, surface, texture.
Composition principles: rhythm, unity, contrasts: measure, scale, equilibrium, composition.
Visual signs: what is a visual sign, types of visual signs, types of graphic implementation of signs, placement of the sign in visual space, full and empty space.
Communicative means of graphic design.
Typography: letter, word, sentence, column, page, structuring of the text with regard to the content and graphic design.
Images: framing pictures, image space, format, dimensional relationships.
Layout: history, articulation of space, grid, dimensional relationships, spread, structuring of the page with regard to the content and graphic design.
Drawing, painting, illustration.
Photography.

Objectives and competences
The purpose of this course is to present visual language, expressive means and methodology of graphic design. Acquired knowledge is the basis for successful communication and cooperation with graphic designers in the technical execution of visual communications.

Special emphasis is on continuous study.
