Subject description

  1. military subsystem of national security of the Republic of Slovenia,
  2. the operation of the Slovenian Armed Forces in the system of collective defense and security,
  3. the legality of the operation of military force in war, peace and crisis response operations,
  4. international humanitarian law.

Objectives and competences

Students gain knowledge in the field of organization and operation of the military subsystem to ensure national security. Students learn about applying international military law and get the theoretical basis for its application in action planning.

Expected study results

Upon successful completion of the course, students will know:

  • define and explain the military national security subsystem;
  • identify, explain and assess indicators of military threat;
  • apply the rules of operation of the military force in war, peace and crisis response operations;
  • take into account the provisions of international military law when planning military operations.
