Publication date: 19. 6. 2026

On Thursday, 18 June, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana was delighted to welcome back the class that first enrolled at the faculty in 1970. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for former students to reconnect, reminisce about their years of study, and learn more about the faculty’s current teaching and research activities.

During their visit, the alumni toured several of the faculty’s laboratories, including the Laboratory for Robotics, the Laboratory of Microelectronics, the Laboratory of Imaging Technologies, and the Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics. At the latter, they were also introduced to the faculty’s photovoltaic power plant, which contributes to its growing energy self-sufficiency.

The reunion once again demonstrated the importance of the lasting connection between the faculty and its alumni. The Class of 1970 showed that a sense of belonging to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering does not end with graduation, but remains a valued part of a community that connects generations of electrical engineers.

At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, we are proud of our graduates, whose knowledge, work and experience make an important contribution to the development of the profession and society. The doors of the faculty will always remain open to them for reunions, collaboration, the exchange of experience, and the continued strengthening of the connections first established during their student years.
