Applied Electrical Engineering

The Applied Electrical Engineering professional study programme covers fundamental professional and applied electrical engineering knowledge and programming tools for working on real-world electrical engineering problems. The wide range of choices within the study programme enables students to be oriented early on in their chosen field of electrical engineering, and the practical knowledge and experience gained from solving current challenges in companies will equip them to enter the labour market immediately.
What does the study programme look like?
The course lasts 3 years or 6 semesters and is worth 180 credits (ECTS).
The first year of study follows a single course of study, while in the second year students follow one of five study programmes (Automation, Electronics, Power Engineering and Machine Automation, Technical Quality, Information and Communication Technologies).
In the last semester, semester 6, students complete a three-month practical training and a thesis.
Upon completion of the diploma, students are awarded the title of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (professional).
What are the main objectives of the programme?
The main objective of the 1st cycle professional study programme Electrical Engineering is to provide students with:
- good applied knowledge of electrical engineering,
- the system knowledge needed to work in different production processes,
- study in modern classrooms and laboratories,
- internationally renowned educators and researchers,
- interdisciplinary skills that are also useful in medicine, biology, economics, engineering, computing, sports, psychology and many other fields,
- practical training in the company,
- Europe-wide comparability of educational attainment.
