About the Laboratory

The Laboratory for Multimedia (LMMFE) includes a team of educators and researchers who cover the fields of audiovisual technologies, design and evaluation of user interfaces and user experience, accessibility for people with disabilities, and the field of virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR). Through research and project collaborations, we are introducing innovative solutions and prototypes into specific industrial environments. We are organising numerous trainings and workshops for partner institutions and are involved in education of new generations of professionals.

In the scope of the educational process we are transferring our knowledge and experience to students, who get the opportunity to work on projects and get familiar with practical challenges during their studies. We primarily teach subjects within the interdisciplinary study of Multimedia. Our courses cover a wide range of knowledge, from systemic understanding of multimedia solutions to delving into specifics of studio equipment operations, professional AV production, multimedia system design, creation of 3D models and animations, and designing and evaluating user experience of user interfaces, including the accessibility aspects.

At LMMFE, we are involved in numerous European and national research projects, in the scope of which we design modern architectures of audiovisual systems, We are developing and evaluating interactive user interfaces, ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities and are creative in the field of virtual reality. We also advise universities on establishing new study programs in the field of multimedia.
