High attendance at the 2026 Information Days

Publication date: 16. 2. 2026

On 13 and 14 February 2026, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana opened its doors to prospective students. The 2026 Information Days once again confirmed the strong interest in studying electrical engineering and multimedia. We were genuinely delighted by the attendance and the positive energy of the visiting secondary school students.

Over the two days, we welcomed many students from across Slovenia who wanted to learn more about the study programmes, opportunities for development and career prospects offered by studying at UL FE.

Presentation of study programmes and the study environment

Visitors attended presentations of the first-cycle study programmes, where they received key information about the study content, admission requirements, the course of the teaching process, and opportunities to continue their studies at the second-cycle level.

We also presented cooperation with industry and research activities that allow students to engage with current technological challenges. Special emphasis was placed on student life and the supportive environment, which is particularly important for both academic and personal development. Secondary school students had the opportunity to speak directly with students and professors and receive first-hand answers to specific questions about studying.

The programme was also enriched by a presentation of the student Formula racing team, which took place in the faculty parking area. Visitors were able to see the race car developed and built by our students and watch a live demonstration drive.

A special experience in the laboratories

An important part of the programme was also the visit to the laboratories, where secondary school students experienced the faculty in practice.

In the research and teaching laboratories, they were able to see modern equipment, demonstrations of experiments, and concrete projects in the fields of energy systems, electronics, telecommunications, automation, robotics, multimedia, and other electrical engineering technologies.

Direct contact with the research environment gave many visitors a better insight into how work at the faculty takes place and how theoretical knowledge is connected with the practical challenges of modern society and industry. For many, this experience was the highlight of their visit.

Admission to first-cycle study programmes

We are pleased that we were able to present the study of electrical engineering to prospective students and introduce them to an environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and cooperation with industry. We would like to thank all secondary school students, parents, and accompanying visitors for attending and for their interest in studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana.

We would also like to inform you that applications for first-cycle study programmes open on 18 February 2026 and remain open until 18 March 2026. Applications must be submitted through the eVŠ online portal.

All key information about the call for applications, admission requirements, the application procedure, and important deadlines is available on the admissions information page.

We invite all interested secondary school students to submit their applications on time and join us at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana in the next academic year.
