Subject description

Electronics circuits, signals, integrated circuits and printed circuit boards. Linear circuits with concentrated elements: electronics components, theorems, energy, power. Analysis and simulation of the linear circuits. Semiconductor fundamentals: the basic elements of bipolar and CMOS technology. Analog electronic circuits, the building blocks of analog communication circuits. Digital combinational and sequential circuits, hardware description language, FPGA devices. Basics of AD and DA converters. Digital communication interfaces. 

Objectives

Understanding the basics of operation of electronic circuits in telecommunication and multimedia systems from the perspective of the transmission and signal processing and basic approaches to analyzing analog and digital systems. Understanding the functionality and familiarity with selected analog and digital electronic circuits. Knowledge of modern technologies and standards, Understanding specifications and selection of appropriate solutions on the market. The course provides a basis for understanding the physical layer of communication systems.
