Subject description

The course is open to a variety of contemporary topics in the broad field of optoelectronics and photonics. Starting with optoelectronic components such as modern optical sources, photodetectors and photodetector arrays, advanced displays, optical fibres, optoelectronic components and systems in photovoltaics, integrated photonics and more. Topics focus on advanced optoelectronic solutions in applications related to optical communications, precision laser systems, solar cell and photovoltaic system enhancements, various photonic integrated circuit designs, plasmonics, photonic crystals, photonics in quantum technologies. In the course, each student will go into more detail and carry out a seminar work on one of the specific sub-topics.
