Progression requirements

The requirement for progression from the first to the second year of doctoral studies is the completion of study obligations amounting to at least 45 ECTS credits.

The requirement for progression to the third year of doctoral studies is the confirmation of a positive evaluation by the Doctoral Student Monitoring Committee regarding the suitability of the doctoral dissertation topic by the Senate of the Faculty, as well as the completion of all organised forms of study, with the exception of the presentation of research results and the defence of the doctoral dissertation.

The requirement for enrolment in the fourth year is the completion of all study obligations from the first three years (180 ECTS credits) and the approval of the doctoral dissertation topic by the Senate of the University of Ljubljana.

Transfers between programmes

In accordance with the applicable Criteria for Transfers between Study Programmes, a transfer between study programmes is defined as the termination of a student’s studies in the programme in which they were originally enrolled and the continuation of studies in the third-cycle doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering.

Transfers are possible in accordance with the applicable Criteria for Transfers between Study Programmes. Applications for transfer to the third-cycle doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering are considered individually by the Senate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, based on a substantiated proposal by the Scientific Research Committee of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, which assesses applications individually and in accordance with Articles 181 to 189 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana.
