Course is carried out on study programme

2nd Cycle Postgraduate Study Programme in Electrical Engineering

Objectives and competences

The objective of the course is to provide an advanced insight into concepts, architectures and protocols in modern telecommunication systems. The focus is on advanced network protocols mechanisms, and service models. Students will acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in these fields.

Learning and teaching methods

Lectures for theoretical aspects, laboratory exercises and team work for real-case scenarios and problem solving through project work. Part of the pedagogical process will be carried out with the help of ICT technologies and the possiblities they offer. Study visits and invited lecturers.

Intended learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • describe the architecture of complex enterprise network and the architecture of complex operator networks,
  • configure enterprise network devices to assure advances services, using adequate combinations of technologies,
  • configure operator network devices to assure advances services, using adequate combinations of technologies,
  • choose the right concepts, architectures and functionalities to assure services in advanced enterprise and operator environments,
  • design the architecture of operator networks and argument the decisions.
