Master's Studies
2nd cycle postgraduate programmes
Second Cycle
Deepening your knowledge
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana is a top educational and scientific research institution in the field of electrical engineering. Its main activity is to educate the best electrical engineers in the fields of electronics, robotics, automation and informatics, biomedical engineering, electrical power engineering, mechatronics and information and communication technologies.
The second cycle Master's degree programmes at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering offer a high-quality set of specific professional electrical engineering and multimedia skills. The study programmes allow students a wide choice within the programme, and through in-depth research work on real projects, students acquire the fundamental skills of an independent research approach.
The international dimension of the programme allows our students to build on their specific skills through Erasmus+ programmes and other types of mobility at universities abroad.
High employability
The knowledge acquired at the second level provides a good basis for further doctoral studies or for independent study as part of lifelong learning, while at the same time offering Masters students a wide range of career development opportunities and effective integration into the labour market.
As experts in their chosen field, they have a wide range of job opportunities in high-tech companies at home and abroad.
The skills they have acquired enable them to pursue an independent career path with their own projects or in their own start-up companies in the fields of electronics, robotics, automation and informatics, biomedical engineering, power engineering, mechatronics and information and communication technologies, and they are also competitive in various other areas of the economy.
Cooperation with the business sector
The faculty has always attached great importance to what the economy and the environment have to say. No technical faculty can be a good faculty without good cooperation with the business sector. The business sector needs us, but at the same time it supports in one way or another the possibilities for further development of the field of electrical engineering.
It is important that the Faculty's teachers and researchers transfer their knowledge directly into the economy, which enables companies to increase their competitiveness, while at the same time our employees improve their professional skills by transferring theory into practice. By providing these activities, our experts keep the Faculty in direct contact with the real business environment. In this way, it also enables students to broaden their horizons beyond the confines of lecture rooms and laboratories, to gain experience and knowledge, and to further their career paths through established business contacts.
Enrolment
Before you can use your study years to explore, create, broaden your horizons and socialise with other students, you need to enrol.
Enrolment for the academic year 2023/2024 is electronic via the STUDIS study information system.
Study Calendar
Educational work in the academic year 2023/24 takes place
from 2 October 202 to 30 September 2024.
Study of the future

Advanced power systems
Energy drives everything. It makes our lives possible. It lights the lights, moves the trains.
Sophisticated technological systems are behind the constant power that few experts understand.
Advanced Power Systems is the 2nd cycle of the part-time postgraduate programme in Electrical Engineering, taught in English.
Inspiration
Whatever you do, do it with your heart, mind and soul. That is the secret of success.
