Automation Days 2023

Date of publication: 20.4.2023 Start date: 25.4.2023 Start time: 08:00 Location: Faculty of Electrical Engineering

After a 3-year break, the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Electrical Engineering will once again host the Automation Days event on 25 April 2023. The event will include the Lego Masters student competition in building and programming mobile systems and the Drone Challenge student competition in drone control design, as well as presentations by several leading Slovenian companies in the field of automation and unmanned systems.

This year, 10 teams from secondary schools in Celje, Novo mesto, Škofja Loka, Ljutomer and Nova Gorica will take part in the student competition, while 15 teams, whose students come from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, will take part in the student competition. In addition, 8 prominent companies in the field of automation and control technology will be presenting themselves at the event.

The aim of the event is to bring the field of automation closer to both students and schoolchildren, while also presenting opportunities for further career development. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of robotics, automation and sensors, while gaining additional practical experience in these fields through preparation for the competition. Such skills are not only useful in the development of autonomous systems, but also in the design, optimisation and management of other intelligent systems and in many other interdisciplinary fields.

The competition is organised by the Automation and Cybernetics Laboratory, FE.
