Franci Katrašnik says goodbye

We are sad to inform you that our long-time colleague, mag. Franci Katrašnik.
Franci Katrašnik graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1981 and obtained his Master's degree in 1985. Since 1982 he has been working in the Telecommunications Laboratory as a researcher. He has been a top expert in telecommunication protocols, from No. 7 signalling to the latest NGN, IMS and 5G. His outstanding professional and organisational skills have been reflected in many concrete projects with companies, resulting in products that are installed worldwide. He has also been involved in several research projects in the field of smart grids and has passed on his wealth of knowledge to students.
Franci Katrašnik was a great personality, a man who lived honestly and enjoyed trust, who filled his space and left the world a better place than he found it. He knew how to strengthen a team with his cheerfulness of spirit and innovation and left an indelible mark on his colleagues at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and beyond.
It will be difficult to fill the void created by his departure. He will live on in the thoughts of all those who enriched us with his tireless work and warm heart.
We will keep him in the most beautiful and lasting memory.
