Recognition of one of the most outstanding research achievements of Dr Mark Jošto and colleagues from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering

Date of publication: 28.11.2022

Marko Jošt, PhD, Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana (LPVO), has today received an award for one of his most outstanding research achievements. The project "Perovskite-CIGS tandem solar cells: from a certified conversion efficiency of 24.2% to 30% and beyond", for which Assoc Prof Dr Jošt is the main contributor, has been selected as one of the University of Ljubljana's Most Outstanding Projects for 2022.

At the end of his postdoctoral training at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Jošt and his colleagues designed a perovskite-CIGS tandem solar cell with a 24.2% light-to-electricity conversion efficiency, optimising it with optical simulations with colleagues from LPVO. The results of the research are the result of the bilateral German-Slovenian TAPAS project. Dr Jošt is also a first author of an article in the prestigious ACS Energy Letters, one of the top five international scientific journals in the field of energy and nanosciences. Other authors include young researcher Špela Tomšič, Associate Prof. Dr. Benjamin Lipovšek and Prof. Dr. Marko Topič as co-authors.
