Award ceremony for the titles of full professor and full professor
Date of publication: 27.1.2023On Wednesday, 25 January 2023, a ceremony was held in the Assembly Hall of the Rector's Office of the University of Ljubljana to announce 61 new full professors for 2022 in various fields of scientific research, artistic and pedagogical work. The titles were conferred by the Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič.
V svojem nagovoru je rektor prof. dr. Gregor Majdič dejal: “Univerza in njeni zaposleni moramo biti tisti, ki družbo vodimo in jo usmerjamo v njenem razvoju, to pa lahko izvajamo le, če izpolnjujemo svoje poslanstvo – izvajamo odlično pedagoško delo, s katerim skrbimo za izobraženost prihodnjih generacij, ter vrhunsko znanstvenoraziskovalno in umetniško delo, s katerim bogatimo posameznike in celotno družbo.”.
PROF. DR. VITOMIR ŠTRUC
V letu 2022 je Fakulteta za elektrotehniko pridobila enega rednega profesorja, redni profesor je postal prof. dr. Vitomir Štruc.
Prof. Vitomir Štruc's research interests are in artificial intelligence and machine learning in relation to computer vision problems. He has published more than 150 papers in the most prestigious conferences and leading journals in his field of work. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Slovenian Ambassador of the European Biometrics Alliance, Past President of the Slovenian Pattern Recognition Society and Vice President for Technical Activities of the IEEE Biometrics Council.
