Date of publication: 18.5.2023

On Wednesday, 17 May, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana (UL FE) organised an event to mark World Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Day. The programme, which this year focused on students, included student project presentations, a fun technology quiz and a concert on the ICT Grand Stage in the Faculty's foyer.

Today's event, organised by the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, started with a lecture by ICT student and national weightlifting champion David Birk, who presented the Assistive Weightlifting Training System with a live demonstration. This was followed by a themed quiz, It's nice to be an electrical engineer, where students battled their way to the hot seat and the bravest received practical prizes. The fun-filled technology quiz, which filled the Faculty's foyer, was organised with the support of Telekom Slovenija and the ICT Chair. At 1 p.m., a concert by the vocal group and band FE provided a good atmosphere. The event ended with a lecture by students Luka Podbregar and Luka Zmrzlak, who presented their practical work during their student years and their own patent.

Today's event at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana is proof that professors, staff and students can work well together, learn from each other, and provide a lively extracurricular event, while at the same time taking part in the international activities of the United Nations' World ICT Day.
