Data Science Competition 2023

The year is here and so is the new edition of the Data Science Student Competition! The competition is organised by the DS@UL-FRI initiative, with the aim of familiarising you with the workflow and problems faced by the most successful data science companies in Slovenia and the surrounding area.

By taking part in the competition, you can gain experience of working in the industry and invaluable connections with the region's best data science experts. In addition to the practical knowledge you can gain by taking part in the competition, you will also gain a wealth of information that can be very helpful for planning your future career. In the competition, you will work in teams throughout the summer semester to solve practical problems (projects) proposed by companies. Each group solves a project under the guidance of two mentors, one from UL FRI and the other from industry. As it is a competition, the best ones get nice prizes at the end. This year, the prize fund exceeds 10.000€.

It is very important to note that even if your final product is not one of the best and you do not receive a financial prize, you can earn 3 or 6 credits through participation in the competition as an elective course from another faculty, but please check this with your student office or the associate dean for Teaching.
