Conditions for advancement

The conditions for advancement from the 1st to the 2nd year of doctoral studies are the completion of study requirements of at least 45 KT.

Advancement to the third year of doctoral studies is conditional upon the approval of a positive evaluation of the Doctoral Student Monitoring Committee on the suitability of the doctoral dissertation topic by the Member State Senate and the completion of the requirements of the organised forms of study, with the exception of the presentation of research results and the defence of the doctoral dissertation.

The admission to the fourth year is conditional upon the completion of all the requirements from the first three years (180 KT) and the consent of the UL Senate to the topic of the doctoral dissertation.

Moving between programmes

In accordance with the current Criteria for Transfers between Study Programmes, a transfer between study programmes is considered to be the termination of a student's education in the study programme in which he/she has enrolled and the continuation of his/her education in the third cycle doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering. Transfers may be made in accordance with the applicable Criteria for Transfers between Degree Programmes. Applications for transfer to the third cycle doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering will be considered individually by the Senate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, on the basis of a reasoned proposal from the Scientific Research Committee of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, which will deal with students' applications on an individual basis and in accordance with Articles 181 to 189 of the Statutes of the University of Ljubljana.The Senate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering will also consider applications for transfer to the third cycle doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering on the basis of a reasoned proposal from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering's Research Committee.
