Enrolment

The following students may enrol in the first year of the second cycle postgraduate study programme Electrical Engineering:

  • those who have completed a first cycle or professional study programme of at least 180 ECTS in electrical engineering or a related technical or natural sciences or mathematics,
  • those who have completed a 1st cycle programme or a higher professional degree programme of the first cycle of at least 180 ECTS in fields other than those referred to in the preceding paragraph, provided that prior to enrolment in the second cycle of the postgraduate study programme Electrical Engineering he/she has completed the following study requirements of 46 ECTS which are essential for the continuation of studies: Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering I, Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering II, Fundamentals of Programming and Measurement.
  • who completed a higher professional degree programme in electrical engineering or related technical or natural sciences (before the adoption of the Higher Education Act in 2004),
  • those who have completed a professional study programme (prior to the adoption of the Higher Education Act in 2004) in fields other than those listed in the previous paragraph, provided that prior to enrolment in the second cycle post-graduate study programme Electrical Engineering he/she has completed the study requirements in the amount of 46 ECTS which are essential for the continuation of studies: Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering I, Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering II, Fundamentals of Programming and Measurements.

Course Advanced Power Systems will be offered as a part-time course in English, provided that at least 8 students are enrolled in the course.

Selection criteria in case of an enrolment restriction

In case of limited enrolment, candidates will be selected for places on the basis of the results of an aptitude test (optional exam) covering subjects in electrical engineering, mathematics, physics and computer science.

For the academic year 2023/2024 there are:

  • 115 places for EU nationals,
  • 2 places for Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship, and
  • 13 places for non-EU nationals.

Recognition of knowledge and skills acquired before enrolment in the programme

In the process of education at cycle 2, a student's knowledge that corresponds in content and scope to the content of the courses taught in the cycle 2 postgraduate study programme in Electrical Engineering may be recognised. The recognition of knowledge and skills acquired prior to enrolment is decided by the Study Committee of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the UL.
